What to expect
This site is maintained by one person alongside other work. Replies usually take a few business days, and occasionally longer. Corrections to the date arithmetic get priority over feature requests.
Useful things to include
- The birthday and expectancy setting you used, if a figure looks wrong — those two inputs fully determine every number the tool shows.
- The number you expected and how you calculated it. Most reported mismatches turn out to be the day-one convention: we treat your birth date as day 0, so ages in days are one lower than counts that call the birth day "day one".
- Your browser and device, if an export button did nothing. Both PNGs are drawn with the canvas API on your device.
What this site cannot tell you
We cannot tell you how long you will live, and we will not add a feature that claims to. The expectancy slider is an assumption you choose so the grid has a size — the reasoning behind that decision is on the about page. Questions about life expectancy as a population statistic are better directed at national statistics offices, which publish the underlying life tables.
For how your data is handled, see the privacy policy; the short version is that your birthday never leaves your browser.
